We know that is not always possible to stay a long time in a city, but a weekend in Austin is more than enough to get to know cool attractions and visit beautiful places. The thing is, with a city with several attractions, what spots should you pick? Don't you mind! We made a selection of the places you can’t miss during a weekend. Take a look:

1- South Congress Avenue:

If you want to start your trip with a walk in a beautiful avenue, this is a very good suggestion. Located downtown Austin, the South Congress Avenue is well known by connecting all the hotspots of the city, real symbol of Austin.

The street is also a perfect spot tho shop, have dinner and visit some art galleries.

Our tip: Have lunch at the SoCo (is how the locals call the avenue) and after the meal spend some time there, checking the news and window shopping, it will be a delicious day.

2- Texas State Capitol:

After spending some time having fun in the SoCo Avenue, it is time to get to know one of the biggest symbols of the city, the Texas State Capitol, is the state's legislative center.

The tourists are welcome to visit the building, by their own or booking a guided tour (that lasts about 30 minutes).

Definitely a worthy tour, where the visitors will learn more about the history of Texas.

3- Sunset at the Lake Travis:

The day is coming to the end and the best way to celebrate all the funny moments you went through in the past hours is watching the sunset. What a better place to do it than a lake? You can also have dinner at the Oasis, the biggest outdoor restaurant in the state.

Watch out the time: The lake is located 3 hours from the center of Austin. But is worthy, we give our word.

4- Rent a Kayak:

It is a new day! The last one in Austin and what a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than having a day doing outdoor activities? Our suggestion is to rent a kayak and have a ride next to the Barton Springs and it is not an expensive tour!

After that, you can have a picnic at the park and enjoy the nature right in the middle of the center of the city.

5- Rainey Street:

The trip is coming to the end, and it must be celebrated! The Rainey Street is the perfect spot for celebrations, with many bars and restaurants.
