How to enjoy 24 hours in Manchester

It may seem like the city of Manchester is not the first option that  tourists choose, but the english city is actually the third most visited in the country, staying only behind London and Edinburgh.

Manchester is famous for being an important economic center, and we must remember the importance the city had in Industrial Revolution, when the steam machine was invented, symbolizing an important fact for history.

Our advice is: put Manchester in your tourist itinerary, even if just for one day, it is worthy.

Thinking about the possibility of only spending 24 hours there, we came up with some ideas of what to do when you have only some hours in Manchester. Check it out:

1- Manchester Central Library:

We are not saying that you are supposed to get in and read a book (obviously, that would take a lot of your precious time in the city) but, the Manchester Library is worthy the visit.

Located right in front of Plaza de San Pedro, it is not necessary to buy tickets to get int, it’s for free. You will spend about 1 hour there.

2- Manchester Cathedral:

A city’s symbol that you must visit. If you don’t want to get in, the church’s facade is already everything you may want to check, with a beautiful gothic architecture.

If you want to visit inside the cathedral, the ticket is also for free.

3- Manchester Arndale:

Once you are there spending the day, you will probably feel like shopping something, right? Do it at Manchester Arndale, a big comercial center. But remember to not spend so much time there, ok? You can shop another time, now you have an entire city to meet in just a few hours.

4- Chinatown:

A perfect place to have lunch if you are visting for just one day. In the chinese neighbor you will have access to many fun elements of the chinese culture, including sortres, restaurants, concerts at the street and so many other attractions.

5- Old Trafford Stadium:

Ready to get inside in the house of the Manchester United, one of the most popular teams in England.

If you are a soccer fan, the visit inside of the stadium is worthy, where you will also have access to the club’s museum, there is also a guide (the visit is paid, of course) and you will spend probably 3-4 hours there. In case you are not a soccer fan, a selfie outside the stadium will work for you.

Ready to Manchester? Don’t you mind that you are staying just for a few hours, like we showed,  it is very possible to have plenty of fun.
